Wine Enthusiast 95 points - Intended as a tribute to Midleton Master Distiller Barry Crockett, this delicate, silky whiskey has a golden hue and a lovely fresh-apple scent. On the palate, apple and ripe pear meld with butterscotch and a touch of banana on the long finish. Meant for savoring straight up.
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 93 points - (Tried & True Award)- Soft-focus orange color is pretty. Loads of ripe fruits explode in the ambrosial bouquet, in particular, ripe pear, spiced apple, quince. Taste-wise, the flavor stage highlights the honeyed aspect that’s barely perceptible in the aroma but comes alive in the taste and finish. Classy, highly sensual. (Apr 2016)
Pale gold in colour. Soft and delicate aromas with acacia honey, white flowers, baked bread and some caramel toffee nuances. On the palate it is soft and light with medium body and a highly complex flavour profile. Citrus fruits, mixed peel, toffee, cocoa, honey, Belgian waffles, engine oil and marshmallow all making an appearance. When reduced with water the aromas are even more delicate but with more fruitiness coming through. The palate is soft and well polished with extra accents of boiled sweets, pear drops, kiwi fruit and melon making an appearance. Smooth, light, and soft on the finish.
