Ultimate Beverage Challenge 88 points - Blood red color. Offers understated aromas of blackberry, brambles, vines, green tea leaves. Pleasingly round, moderately tannic flavors include blackberry, black cherry, raspberry preserves. Not a fierce Zin, but one that’s gentlemanly and reserved. Hamburger-land for this one. (Jun 2014)
Wine Advocate 87 points - Slightly less concentrated and savory, but still meritorious is the 2012 Sin Zin, a broad, round, juicy Zinfandel revealing lots of briery, brambleberry fruit, good pepper and spice, soft tannins and 14.7% alcohol. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. (Dec 2014)
The 2012 is 100% Zinfandel with aromas of spice, black pepper, dark fruits and vanilla. This refined, well balanced Zinfandel has spicy flavors of plum and black cherry along with black pepper and cocoa powder. There is nice acidity and length to the finish.
