Malt Advocate 89 points - Booze candy from Beam? More like bacon in a glass: the sweet smokiness invaded my dining room (definitely the last tasting of the day). Richly smoky-sweet, with a clear balance of maple over corn; like a rustic breakfast of bacon, pancakes, and whiskey! The maple’s restrained and authentic, the 45% keeps it from being too sweet, and there’s plenty of good bourbon flavor here, especially at the finish. Lush, tasty; if you have to do flavors, here’s how.

Ultimate Beverage Challenge 90 points - Very powerful aromas of sausage, maple sugar and salted caramel are balanced by more subtle aromas of candied grapefruit peel. In the mouth it is luscious and sweet with deep, smoky flavors of maple syrup and toasted vanilla bean. Very smooth all the way through. (Apr 2014)
The scent is all buttered maple. The smoke is light and the oak nicely balances the sweetness and smoke. The body of the Bourbon and its spicy vanilla and clove flavor helps to round out the single-note maple that rises to the top of each sip.
