Burgundy red color. Intense and spicy bouquet, hints of fruit in spirit with clear notes of coffee, cocoa, roasted hazelnut and dried grape. Warm, vigorous, with a full, austere, rounded and balanced flavor.
|Wine maker notes
|Its main feature comes from the peculiar way it is produced. It is the result of the vinification of grapes left to dry in stackable plastic boxes until December-January so that it develops a high concentration in sugar and a peculiar aroma. It is a full, round wine with a pronounced, complex aroma. Suitable for very long ageing, provided that it is properly kept in a dry place and with the bottle lying down.
|The House of VALCKENBERG - Wine Merchants since 1786
In 1786, a Dutchman, Peter Joseph Valckenberg, establishes a wine business in Worms, and begins importing and exporting. In 1808, Valckenberg is able to buy the monastery and the vineyards around the Church of Our Lady, (“Liebfrauenkirche”), at an auction, and becomes the first to put “Liebfraumilch” on the market. Valckenberg leads it to world success.
