Our Ancient Vines Mourvèdre offers distinct chocolate characteristics and a
luscious deep plum flavor. Tannins are soft with a substantial mouth-feel.
The 2011 Ancient Vine Mourvedre from Contra Costa, an area well-known for this varietal, is decent. It is obviously meant to be a lightweight Mourvedre and spends some time in American oak, but is straightforward and spicy with adequate fruit. Like all the Cline wines, drinking this in its first 12-18 months after release is the smart choice.
