Our Ancient Vines Mourvèdre offers distinct chocolate characteristics and a
luscious deep plum flavor. Tannins are soft with a substantial mouth-feel.
The 2011 Mourvedre Ancient Vine, from Contra Costa County, was aged eight months in one-quarter new American oak. This dark ruby-colored Mourvedre is not the least bit rustic or astringent, as some of its peers tend to be. It offers tasty blueberry and raspberry flavors as well as good purity and elegance, and a medium-bodied finish.
