Ultimate Beverage Challenge 90 points - There’s an elegantly shy nose of lemongrass, citrus blossom, and elderflower that is coaxed from the glass. Flinty minerality marries beautifully with flavors of white peach, apricot, gooseberry, and dill. The crisp finish brings distinct notes of mango. (Jun 2016)
Wine Advocate 89 points - I tasted the just-bottled 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Ritual, where the focus has been on improving the palate and texture, as they feel the focus has been on the nose and acidity, and need to improve on the texture. In 2015, they increased the number of egg-shaped cement vats in search of more complex and austere wines, showing a different face of Casablanca. 2015 was a slightly warmer vintage and it shows in the wine, it does not have the vibrancy of the 2014 or 2013, it’s softer with clean flavors and good length, with more volume and a little wider. 40,000 bottles produced.
A vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with intense citrus and floral notes, combined with flavors of white peaches and nectarines. Its full, savory acidity leads to an impeccable clean smooth finish.
