Black Sheep Ale is a full flavoured, premium bitter with a rich fruity aroma. We use plenty of choice Golding hops which give it a roast coffee maltiness followed by Black Sheep’s characteristic refreshingly dry and bitter finish.
Brewed using our traditional and time honored methods which lead to a bottled beer of the highest quality. As with all Black Sheep beers, it is brewed in the traditional way and fermented in the unusual Yorkshire Square system to produce a distinctive robust taste. Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured premium ale with a rich fruity aroma. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by Black Sheep's uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish.
|We use Maris Otter malted barley which delivers a better quality and more consistent beer. This brew contains more Crystal Malt than Best Bitter, giving Black Sheep Ale its rich flavour and darker colouring.
We use a blend of whole hops including Challenger and Progress hops, with an emphasis on Goldings, giving the beer its fruity nose.
|Black Sheep Ale is brewed with a large helping of Golding hops which lend a fruity flavour reminiscent of Seville oranges which, together with the warming full bodied malt flavour, stand up well to all red meats and most cheeses such as Wensleydale and Stilton.
