Wine Enthusiast 90 points - Amber in the glass, this Scotch has a rich butterscotch aroma, with touches of fresh apple and tropical fruit. Look for dried fruit and Sherry upfront on the palate, with additional notes of vanilla and oak that hang on through the exceedingly long and rounded finish. Though it’s mouthcoating and oily, it’s also roughed up a bit by the high proof, giving it a drying edge on the close.
Warm and rich aromas are of honeyed stone fruit, earthy smoke and tropical flowers. On the palate it is elegant with flavors of cereal grains, soft caramel and a touch of spice. Incredibly soft, it is velvety in the mouth.
Nosing passes find delicious aromas of roasted chestnuts, nectarines, apricots, banana, traces of jasmine, unbaked bread dough and yeast, and light honey. Palate entry is assertive and caramel sweet; midpalate is more integrated as layers of sweet grain and toffee intermingle with dried fruits (prunes), oaky spice and marzipan. Concludes sweet, oaky and a touch Sherried. 90-95 Points Wine Enthusiast
