Wine Enthusiast 92 points - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2011 Finalist. Wonderfully fresh aromatics with clean citrus notes. The texture is supple while vibrant with well proportioned botanicals and citrus emerging on the finish.
Nosing passes find a peppery bouquet of zesty, mildly citrusy scents of juniper, cedar, Christmas tree sap, coriander and orris root. Entry is silky, smooth, moderately sweet and keenly pine-like; the midpalate is elegant, floral, and sweet with a touch of sap. Finishes clean, citrusy and spicy. Better than its sibling, Bombay Sapphire.
Sweet, mild, clean fragrance of lemon, juniper and licorice. This is a complex gin; more flavors can be detected with each sip: cinnamon spice, astringent pine needles, a touch of lime zest and, finally, a big licorice finish comes singing through. Slightly oily feel. Great for a gimlet or martini with a lemon twist.
