Lustau Description

Aged for 15 years in Jerez de la Frontera. Since the foundation of its Solera by Mr. Emilio Lustau in 1921 to commemorate the visit to Jerez of Eugenia de Montijo, the last Empress of France.

Dark gold in colour with khaki hues. Penetrating aromas of noble woods, varnish and nuts with a great concentration. A rich and mellow wine, with immense flavours of smoky wood, prunes and bitter chocolate. Complex and ample on the palate, smooth and warming with a lingering aftertaste.

Intense walnuts, figs and prunes with caramel and dried persimmon on the nose. Tangy and concentrated with salty almonds and walnuts lingering in a very long finish. Drink now.

Decanter: 91

Defined notes of demerara sugar, walnuts and orange peel. A soft mouth feel, nicely balanced with well-integrated alcohol. Slightly astringent finish.

With the calm pace of a jerezano waking up from a siesta on an August afternoon, this Oloroso gradually begins to reveal its flavors in scents of caramel and smoke. It’s sweet through the middle, with firm acidity accompanying rather than interrupting that sweetness. But in the end, the salinity and briny shellfish scents take over, leaving a dry and juicy taste that invites another glass…and another.
