Comes off alluringly herbal and root-like in the opening sniffs after the pour; the rooty earthiness becomes more like a tree bark bitterness following aeration. Palate entry is nicely bitter but with a background, low-key sweetness that balances the bitterness; midpalate is clipped, bittersweet, bark-like and tangy.
